Degrassi: The Next Generation

My. All. Time. Favorite. Show. Ever.

If you know me, you know that I am one of the BIGGEST  Degrassi Fan ever. If you haven't heard about this show, or seen it, then get comfortable, because when I talk about Degrassi, it takes years before I'm finished.
The show is about a crowd of students enrolled in Degrassi Community School, and focuses on mainly the tough situations its students (ranging from 9th-12th grade) go through. Each season brings new characters, brings back old characters, and leave others behind. Each individual character bear conflicts that relate to real teens in our society. Situations that range from teen pregnancies, transgenders, addictions, suicide, cancer, rape, parent divorce, teen marriage, homosexuality, mental and physical disabilities, heartbreak, friendship, stress, etc. With these problems, actors portray their character's daily lives, the bullying, and struggles they go through, home situations, and how they deal with their problems. Representing that more true-to-life situations dont always have happy endings is what makes this show so incredible. I love the fact that in reality, we can relate to these situations- and most of us don't have it as bad, so we can empathize.
This show is finishing up its 12th season, going on its third, and as we watch the students graduate, we cry, we laugh, we smile, we cry again, and say goodbye to the old characters, and get ready for new characters, and what story they bring. Ive seen every episode, so I dont want to spoil anything, but watch Degrassi on Teen Nick Thursdays at 9pm et / 6pm pt. Tune in every Thursday, starting July 11th.
